Quality and sensitivity in teaching art

Art as Social Practice is a programme for artists of all disciplines who situate and expand their practice within social fields. How can artistic practices connect with the concerns of cultural, socio-cultural and political education and their existing pedagogical and systemic dimensions? How can we generate and weave alternative knowledge in collective artistic processes?

The programme starts in October 2023 and continues until March 2024, by which time the participants will have come together for five multi-day modules at various locations in Hesse and the surrounding region.

Artists as co-operative partners

Kunst als soziale Praxis builds on the foundations of art school training. The programme teaches the knowledge and self-confidence that artists need for equitable and responsible partnerships with actors in cultural education and social fields. The artists learn new tools and strategies with which they can expand their skills base. Establishing networking among artists is a key goal of the programme.

PARTNERS

Kunst als soziale Praxis is a Crespo Foundation initiative in cooperation with Hessische Theaterakademie and Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK). The programme is offered in conjunction with art schools in Hesse.
