The first ten cultural daycare centres are being launched in Hesse. In the pilot phase from 2024 to 2026, the project will be supported at locations in northern, central and southern Hesse.

The newly initiated state-wide pilot program Kulturkita Hessen aims to promote early childhood cultural education and participation. Daycare centres are provided with both personnel and financial support to give children the opportunity to develop their creativity, develop their personality and discover art and culture. Particular attention is paid to strengthening local networks and collaborating with cultural education partners and cultural venues. The programme also offers individual solutions, including an annual budget for cultural education programmes and activities.
