OUTREACH PROGRAMME OFFERING ADVICE FOR PARENTS

BABYLOTSE FRANKFURT (FRANKFURT ‘BABY GUIDES’)

Around 13,000 babies are born each year in Frankfurt. The birth of a baby comes with lots of new challenges – often these are extra burdens that can have a negative impact on the baby’s development. But not all parents manage to access the wide array of resources on offer for young families. That’s why the ‘baby guides’ come to the maternity ward with advice and assistance.

For a good start in life: recognising, explaining, connecting

‘There are now ‘baby guides’ at all six maternity clinics in Frankfurt. They offer advice about every aspect of life with a new baby. What’s more, their guidance is free of charge and available to all parents. While the mother is still on the maternity ward she has a face-to-face conversation with the ‘baby guide’ to determine what kind of support is needed and then – if she wishes – the right resources can be found for her.

‘Right from the start I was able to concentrate on my baby instead of bureaucratic matters.’
