SAFE HOUSES FOR WOMEN
VAIA! – BERATUNG UND SCHUTZ (VAIA! – ADVICE AND SAFETY)
When young women have endured physical, mental or sexual violence for years on end, their eighteenth birthday can often have a catalysing effect: this is when they pluck up the courage to try and escape from their precarious situation. Up to now there have been very few options for these women to receive protection and support. VAIA! in Frankfurt closes this gap.

Protecting – accompanying – letting go
VAIA! gives swift and uncomplicated help on the spot by providing anonymous advice and anonymous accommodation in safe houses. This is the precondition for women being able to find peace and work out as quickly as possible what they want to do in the short-term. Using a multi-stage concept, the educational staff at VAIA! accompany young women seeking protection with everything from the very first contact through to crisis intervention.
VAIA! supports the women in developing plans for the future until they can safely move into transitional accommodation, where they can try out their newfound independence step by step. VAIA! then offers women an aftercare service for this phase, ensuring that they have someone at their side and a positive outlook for the future.
