SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

GEMEINSAM:SCHLAU (TOGETHER:CLEVER)

Schools should be safe spaces without discrimination or exclusion. Yet implementing educational concepts that everyone respects and observes isn’t always easy in practice. The SchlaU workshop addresses migration in education with its programme Gemeinsam:SchlaU, giving schools expert support so that they can move towards achieving the ideal situation.

Countering discrimination, enhancing participation

The aim is to give schools assistance in offering an education that is inclusive, critical of discrimination and focused on diversity. Gemeinsam:SchlaU achieves this by relying on four pillars:

  • Workshops and workshop formats for school heads, teachers and other staff

  • Process consulting and support for the transition to everyday school life

  • Network events with other schools

  • Empowerment workshops and hands-on project for pupils

Empowering schools in a migrant society

All the members of the school community are involved in the transformative process in order to ensure that a diversity-oriented perspective is sustainably anchored in everyday school life. The programme Gemeinsam:SchlaU is free of charge for schools and also accessible as an online format.

‘It’s so good to see that I have allies among the teaching staff. That we share a mindset. I didn’t realise that beforehand.’
